What is PhilHealth GAMOT?

The PhilHealth GAMOT program – which stands for Guaranteed and Accessible Medications for Outpatient Treatment – was officially launched on August 14, 2025. It is a special initiative that provides free medicines to eligible members.

As of August 21, the program expanded from 21 to 75 essential types of free medicines, with a yearly limit of ₱20,000.

PhilHealth President and CEO, Dr. Edwin M. Mercado, emphasized that Filipinos deserve access to the medicines they need without the burden of out-of-pocket expenses. With this expansion, mas makakatulong at makakagaan ito ng buhay para sa maraming Pilipino.

Eligible members can now get free medicines directly at VidaCure, covering treatments commonly prescribed for:

  • Infections
  • Asthma and COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)
  • Diabetes
  • High cholesterol
  • Hypertension
  • Heart diseases
  • Nervous system disorders
  • Supportive therapies
  • Other common health conditions

What Does it Mean to be Philhealth GAMOT-accredited?

This accreditation allows PhilHealth members to get selected prescribed medicines for free directly from VidaCure.

It also means that VidaCure has met PhilHealth’s strict standards for the proper storage, handling, and dispensing of medicines — ensuring every product you receive is safe and authentic.

How to Avail PhilHealth GAMOT Benefits at VidaCure Pharmacy?

Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to help you get started:

1.Be an Active PhilHealth Member

You should be a registered and active PhilHealth member, or a dependent of one (like a spouse, parent, or child).

2.Enroll in PhilHealth’s Yaman ng Kalusugan (YAKAP) Program

Sign up through any PhilHealth office, the eGovPH app, or the PhilHealth Member Portal.

3.Visit your YAKAP-accredited clinic

Have your check-up and First Patient Encounter (FPE) at your chosen clinic to get your prescription with a Unique Prescription Code (UPSC).

Through the YAKAP Program, members can get free check-ups, lab tests, and even cancer screening tests upon the recommendation of their doctor – based on their specific health needs.

4.Bring your requirements to VidaCure Pharmacy

Present the following when claiming your GAMOT benefits:

  • Valid Doctor’s Prescription with UPSC
  • PhilHealth ID
  • One valid government-issued ID

5.Claim your free medicines at VidaCure
